Fleeing the devastation of war in South Sudan, Mary carried the weight of loss, trauma, and responsibility on her shoulders. Yet, through the darkest moments—like walking days without food or witnessing the unimaginable—her spirit remained unbroken.
Finding refuge in Kiryandongo, Uganda, marked the beginning of her transformation. With the help of Y Global’s counseling program, Mary not only found peace but became a source of healing for others. Today, she’s a beacon of hope, counseling survivors and uniting her community with strength and compassion.
Her words echo deeply: “Even in trouble, God will help us. We’ll be alive, and we can help others.”
